Making memorable Slack emojis
Christie Goshe
This set of Slack emojis was created as a brand touchpoint for employees to engage with and remember company values.
Designers worked with simple circle shapes through the program to visually represent each value and where it sits in the lineup. There were also some pretty complex Venn diagrams. My job was direct motion into these ideas, make them feel relatable, fun, and and memorable.
I was in School of Motion’s Animation Bootcamp during this project, so my curves definitely got sweetener and my bounces more technically accurate.
Building
The first value in the lineup. We see some anticipated motion on the red circle before it jumps; but the line weight scaling between the small and large circles was the biggest technical hurdle for me on this one.
Owning
My goal here was making the circular swoop to feel like a hug by the red circle before targeting down and bouncing back as balls.
Being Curious
A little bit goofy, a little eye-brow raising.
Positivity
Having the atom collapse on itself before bouncing out made the most sense here, capturing the energy and reducing the complexity/repetitiveness of turning the ovals into circles.
